Relieving Some Money Stress
January 6th 2011 22:52
Money may cause stress, but sometimes there are ways to ease the stress. Here are some tips.
Rich or poor, the money issues never end. Money determines your lifestyle. Unfortunately sometimes people live beyond the means of their financial situation. Just a thought!
One of everybody's expense where you can save, if you do it right, or break, if you do it wrong is groceries. Here's a great grocery resource. Use coupons, both manufacturers and store coupons that can be found in their flyers. Do your homework with groceries. It might be worth shopping at a store that offers a gas discount, but I noticed that prices on staple items are higher than other stores. Some people see bulk as an answer, but I say I discount grocers like ALDI has great prices on great foods. Thing is, it's always crowded!
A useless money drainer that leads to nowhere are lotteries and anything you spend more money than you get back on. Track your spending on your gambling habits. Add how much you spend and how much you get back in a year. You're the exception if you come out ahead. You go ten steps back if you are still in debt. In tight times the winnings are farther and more in between.
If your New Years Resolution was to save money, then join the club. Any advice is worth trying.
My personal opinion is that 2011 isn't going to get better, regardless what you hear. Although jobs may be increasing, the price of everything from groceries to gas to housing to travel and beyond will increase FAST! 2011 better or worse? It depends on your individual situation. We live in what I call a triple-income-world. Most people have only one or two incomes coming into the home, and if you think about it, financial needs are not always met or you live paycheck-to-paycheck!
Happy New Year and happy savings!
