Finding Extra Cash
December 14th 2010 13:42
If there is a way to save money, I'll try it. Sometimes you must look for creative ways to come up with extra cash. Sometimes you have to sacrifice. I also found that sometimes you have to invest in a money saving product.
The latter is something that I did recently. I was once a soda nut, but turned to club soda and seltzers as alternatives to the sugary drinks. I love carbonation and they are all I drink. A weekly bill on generic club soda is about $15 a week. I spent $100 on a soda stream maker that will more than pay for itself. I expect to save over $500 a year. Instead of buying their flavors just add your favorite juice. Myself I prefer plain!
Sacrifice is hard but can turn up some extra cash. Giving up, cutting down or looking for alternatives is a way to sacrifice. Buying a cup of coffee rather than making your own, eating out vs. taking a lunch, cellular phones, cable, etc., it pays to find ways to sacrifice.
The Simple Dollar is giving you daily financial advice to prepare you for 2011.
